VICTORIA, British Columbia – VertiGIS, a leading geographic information systems (GIS) service provider and software developer, announced today the renaming of Geocortex to VertiGIS Studio. As the Geocortex product line has grown over the last five years, this rename serves to celebrate the modular suite of GIS application-building products and distinguish it from its predecessor, Geocortex Essentials. In addition, this change unifies VertiGIS Studio products with the corporate VertiGIS identity.
“We are always looking closely at emerging technologies, new deployment patterns, and other trends in the GIS space,” said Drew Millen, CTO, VertiGIS. “There’s been so much progress in recent years that we felt it was appropriate to rename Geocortex to better reflect our evolution and vision for the future. We are excited to introduce the VertiGIS Studio name as the representation of a new chapter for our products and the solutions our customers create with them.”
Under the VertiGIS Studio name, customers will continue to benefit from building custom GIS applications with mix-and-match style viewer and capability products that include powerful workflows, streamlined reports, and high-quality print templates.
Beginning today, January 26, customers will begin to experience the VertiGIS Studio name and logo as it rolls out in branded communications and newly released software versions. Beyond that, nothing much will change; the colors, designs and visual elements associated with Geocortex will remain, as will its mission to allow users to accomplish even more with Esri’s ArcGIS® technology.
VertiGIS will provide a seamless online transition, with redirects from the Geocortex website and related resources to www.vertigisstudio.com.
